Book Bags!
May 2017 marked an important milestone for the Deschapelles library: they started lending books!  Most households do not have books in Deschapelles because of the cost.  Deschapelles can be very dusty particularly in the dry months.  The Library Conseil (the Deschapelles Library Board) thought it would be a good idea to insert each book in a book bag for transport to and from the library. A group of women in Essex gathered to sew the book bags with a generous donation from Nautical Needles in Westbrook, CT and Cemmy Ryland. Thank you ladies!!
