Karen Birch Blundell returned to Essex with the Exponential Ensemble to perform chamber music to benefit Sister Cities Essex Haiti. Karen (on the oboe) was joined by Founder Pascal Archer (on the clarinet), and William Hestand (on the bassoon). The concert took place on Sunday, September 30, 2012 at the beautiful Ulrich Franzen designed house in Essex with picture postcard views of the Connecticut River and Long Island Sound. It is an award-winning masterpiece of post-modern architecture designed in 1957 for Shavaun Robinson and Henry Towers. Visit the Exponential Ensemble by clicking here. Karen, with the Essex Consort, performed a concert for Sister Cities Essex Haiti in May 2011. We are grateful to Karen and her fellow musicians for not only benefiting Sister Cities Essex Haiti but also for bringing beautiful music to our community. We are also grateful to Didi Towers, for allowing us the use of her beautiful home. We are also grateful to the members of the SCEH Development Committee who provided wonderful appetizers after the concert and to the Girl Scouts who served it!
